This is a piece in my collection I have been hesitant to sell. it is one of two Jesus statues from crosses that hung up in the Cathedral at Ypres before and during WW1. After the cathedral was destroyed these were collected by a British army priest and sent back to the UK to his parish. With this one is a postcard he sent back from 1915 with a picture of the Cathedral and the card is marked BEF soldier mail. There is also a period tag attached as well. It measures 16 inches long and is solid metal and very HEAVY! A real relic from the war and really rare.
I recently saw small bits and pieces of the cathedral selling on Ebay for hundreds of dollars so I think my price is very fair on this and is firm. Postage is a bit high due to the weight and if it costs more than what I have listed I will pay it.
I will be listing the other one tomorrow.
