This is a Wonderful 19TH C Miniature Sea Chest Sweetheart Caddy BOX Old DOVETAIL Construction

This handmade trunk has all of the right provenance. From the Cape Cod region with Handmade dovetails, rope handles, hardware. It is a beautiful piece of folk art.

You’d If only it could tell about the adventures it has seen! I’d like to think this box was constructed on the high seas by a lonely sailor for his wife waiting at home.

This chest is HEAVY. It measures 15" x 7.5" x 6.5".

THE ENTIRE BOX IS IN EXTREMELY Unique. It’s in good structural CONDITION. THE BOX ITSELF ALL ORIGINAL. IT STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL HINGES l The finish shows age, wear and loss, I’m sure it’s original.

It’s unusual and I haven’t seen one exactly like it. I’d guess it is utilitarian specific.
