Description:


An excellent set of this 'New Impression' of Series 1-4, complete in four volumes. Bound in full green calf with gilt ruled borders to boards, gilt arms of the Merchant Taylors Company to centre of upper boards. Spines with five raised bands, gilt lettering on morocco labels, and gilt tooling to compartments. All edges marbled. Externally, all volumes remain sound and firm, a few minor scuffs to boards, a little rubbing to joints and extremities, spines sunned to brown. Internally, all volumes also sound and firm. Marbled endpapers with armorial bookplate of Edward Frederic Bonhote to front pastedowns. Pages generally clean and tidy throughout. Vols. I & IV dated 1905, Vols. II & III dated 1906.
