official participant’s desk medal/plaque from the relay-race of the Olympic
Torch from the XXII Olympic Games in Moscow 1980. With this medal sportsmen
were awarded who participated in the carrying of the Olympic torch/fire.
Limited number of these were produced and that is why finding is extremely
rare. The medal is made of solid brass and comes in very good condition.
There on the reverse it is printed in Cyrillic "Relay-race for carrying of the
Olympic fire/torch throughout Bulgaria". Town signs are also pictured of all
towns through which the fire had passed as well as the date on which the
Olympic torch had passed through Bulgaria, 25 June – 1 July 1980 and ‘Moscow
1980’. Fantastic medal and a must for every good collection!
