From samurai swords to Sabres - American-made F-86 Sabre jets, fuselages adorned with the red circle symbols of Japan's "Rising Sun" line the field at the Japanese Air Force base of Hamamatsu. The four Japanese pilots in the foreground, just back from a training flight early this month, are part of the volunteer self-defense forces undergoing intensive training in the air, sea and ground defense of their homeland.Photo measures 10 x 8.25inches.
