  • For your consideration is an impressive bas-relief roundel
  • Made of cast copper, silver plated on top
  • It futures a Neo-Classical scene with a Greek goddess or muse placing a laurel wreath on a monument
  • The stone pedestal bears Greek characters with the name [EPISTEMO]  -KNOWLLEGE
  • At the background one can see a majestic building
  • Art Nouveaux image, masterly rendered with smooth lines and great detail
  • The roundel is stamped by the artist F. Bowcher F
  • FRANK BOWCHER (British, 1864-1938), who also studied in Paris, worked as engraver at the Royal Mint, London and was one of the select group of founder-members of the Royal Society of British Sculptors, and a regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy. His reputation was made chiefly as a medalist and designer of seals. Many of his art pieces are a part of Victoria & Albert Museum collection
