Antique 18th C. Carved Wood Spice Cellar, Unusual Treen Primitive


  • For your consideration is a very unusual and interesting early primitive spice cellar
  • Hand carved out from one piece of wood, possibly pine, birch or ash
  • It has five bowls, likely for salt and other spices
  • Quite unusual, it was intended to be a spice cellar, but it could be perfectly used as an egg holder
  • Great folk art work, beautiful weathered texture and patination
  • Circa late 18th/very early 19th century, found in rural Pennsylvania
  • All original

  • Condition: Very Good overall. Please see photos below. Nicely textured old wood with minor scuffs, wear and discoloration, considering its age. A few holes from inactive wood bugs. All original
