Antique ea. 1800' Cast Iron Mooring Anchor, Rare Shape


  • For your consideration is a very interesting and rare antique anchor
  • made of cast iron with one arm with a fluke and the other arm is bent / folded
  • It was meant to be used for mooring in shallow waters, hence the rounded spike to prevent an eventual damage to the hull
  • Wrought iron loop at the top
  • Great Maritime and Naval History collectible
  • Circa mid 19th century, Anglo-American
  • All original

  • Measurements: Approx. 36" high with the loop, 19" fluke to arm, 4" thick 
  • Weighs about 26 lbs.

  • Condition: Very Good overall. Please see photos. All original and unaltered. Oxidation expected with age and use. Part of the original black paint still remains
