  • Masterfully executed genre scene, featuring a charming young couple, a toreador in typical attire, and a girl clad in bolero dress, holding the quintessential Spanish fan. They are walking on the street, immersed in pleasant conversation

  • The painting is signed lower right - A. Perez

  • Alonso Perez (1881-1914) was born in Zaragoza, Spain. It is believed that he received some academic training in addition to the teachings of his father Mariano Alonso Perez, also an artist, who made a name for himself with colorful genre scenes. Alonso Jr moved to Paris, where he worked the rest of his life. His specialty were light-hearted genre scenes with figures often dressed in 18th century fashion

  • Well mounted in embossed giltwood frame with off white matting outlined with gold, under glass, ready for display

  • Circa late 19th/early 20th century


  • Measurements: Approx. 19.5" x 14.5" framed; 13" x 8" the scene
  • Weighs about 4 lbs.
