Masterfully executed genre scene, featuring a charming young couple, a toreador in typical attire, and a girl clad in bolero dress, holding the quintessential Spanish fan. They are walking on the street, immersed in pleasant conversation The painting is signed lower right - A. Perez Alonso Perez (1881-1914) was born in Zaragoza, Spain. It is believed that he received some academic training in addition to the teachings of his father Mariano Alonso Perez, also an artist, who made a name for himself with colorful genre scenes. Alonso Jr moved to Paris, where he worked the rest of his life. His specialty were light-hearted genre scenes with figures often dressed in 18th century fashion Well mounted in embossed giltwood frame with off white matting outlined with gold, under glass, ready for display Circa late 19th/early 20th century
