WHAT IS A HUB ASSEMBLY?

Responsible for attaching the wheel to the car, a wheel hub assembly is a pre-assembled unit that features precision bearings, seals and sensors. Also called a wheel hub bearing, hub assembly, wheel hub unit or hub and bearing assembly, the wheel hub assembly keeps your wheel attached to your vehicle and allows the wheels to freely turn enabling you to safely steer. The wheel hub assembly is also critical to your anti-lock braking system (ABS) and the traction control system (TCS). Besides bearings, it contains the wheel speed sensor that controls your vehicle’s ABS braking system and traction control system.

ABNORMAL NOISES

Excessive inner or outer tire wear is a sign that there could be something wrong with your tie rods ends.

STEERING WHEEL VIBRATION

A damaged tie rod end can cause the front end to come out of alignment and handle poorly.

ILLUMINATED ABS LIGHT

A loose tie rod end can cause vibration or looseness in the steering wheel which can worsen during acceleration or turns.

POTHOLE DAMAGE

Abnormal noises like squealing while turning corners or clunking from the front end can be an indication of a damaged tie rod end.
