Chinese Carved Green Spinach Jade Hard Stone Ram Ritual Vessel Archaic Style
- For your consideration is an impressive zoomorphic vessel
- Hand carved darker green jade / jadeite / hard stone in the form of a ram carrying a container on his back. We are not positive what material this item was cared out of, but certainly it is a really hard stone as it could not be scratched with a metal needle, pin or knife. Also it is not tinted, this is the natural color of the stone with its original texture, inclusions and lighter/darker tones and shades
- The cylindrical hole could hold incense sticks or large matchsticks or something alike
- Following the Chinese Archaic style aesthetics, made after the antique
- Possibly circa 1960's-70's or earlier, China. The consignors stated that this figure was in their possession at least from the 1960's or early 70's. Brought to the States from Europe by their parents who used to live and work there
- Measurements: Approximately 6.5" long x 2.25" wide x 5.75" high
- It weighs 4 lbs. 11 oz.
