- Classical Georgian shape
- Stylish marquetry rosettes on the top as well as on the inner part of the lid, with fine marquetry ribbons at the edges
- The original insert with the holders for the knives is present and intact
- Superb smooth patina
- Circa late 18th/early 19th century, England
- Measurements: Approximately 13.25" tall x 10" x 9"
- It weighs about 5 lbs. 10 oz.
- Condition: Very Good overall. Please see photos. Minor surface splits, due to natural shrinkage of the wood with the age, two unobtrusive flakes to the marquetry band on the front edge, altogether commensurate with the great age. Displays handsomely, nevertheless! All original.
