DETAILS:  The Concert For Bangladesh. Original first pressing. Apple Records. Circa 1971. Box set of three vinyl records along with booklet and record company issued record sleeves.


CONDITION: Boxed record set is in Near Mint / Mint condition and includes all the materials issued by the record company. Record cover box  is in Near Mint / Mint condition with very light wear which is visible in the images provided. It has a small blemish to upper edge of back cover. Other than that, the cardboard box cover it is very well cared for. All three vinyl records appear to be unplayed. The 64 page booklet is clean with smooth front and back covers. It has no tears, rips or stains. Interior page color is white with no signs of discolorations. All three record sleeves are clean. Overall an exceptionally well preserved boxed record set.


BACKGROUND: The Concert for Bangladesh was a pair of benefit concerts organized by  Beatles guitarist George Harrison and Indian sitar player Ravi Shankar. The shows were held at 2:30 and 8:00 pm on Sunday, August 1st, 1971, at Madison Square Garden in New York City, to raise international awareness of, and fund relief for refugees from East Pakistan, following the Bangladesh Liberation War-related genocide. The concerts were followed by a live album, a boxed three-record set, and Apple Films' concert documentary, which opened in cinemas.
