1896 Victoria Era Solid Silver Sugar Shaker in the Georgian Style.

Full English Hallmarks for George Nathan & Ridley Hayes Chester. 1896

A good heavy shaker. Hand crafted in 1896.

A lovely Georgian Style castor shaker, standing on a pedestal base, raising into a bulbous shaped body with repoussed swirling decoration, coming into a long slim neck.

The lid is well fitting and is decorated with panels of diamonds each with a caster sugar hole to the centre, and to the top there is a flaming torch shaped finial.

Condition is very good there are no dings seen to the silver.

The pedestal foot sits straight, however there is a lean to the shaker, although I cannot find why. Possibly at some time in its past it has been put down heavily on the table, but there’s is no damage seen.

Please inspect all my photographs carefully as they are part of the description
