This is a good example of an old used railway oil lamp burner & wick as used in the steam times on the BR & before   as per the photos stamped BR/E NER to the front .It it is from a standard sized handlamp  .It is in good solid condition with the ceramic Vaporite burner and wick supplied as per the photos . It would transform that old lamp very well . It will slot into a standard 25 mm aperture in the reservoir The adjuster shaft is approx 40mm from the centre to thburner to the brass adjuster again stamped Sherwood . There are adjutable tabs - adjuster shaft approx 40mm the the burner centre for  adjustment . I am pretty sure most the BR regions hand lamps were a standard pattern . (open to correction !!)  .May well suit others ..
