The reverse of the coin features the detailed portrait with its original background in colour of the Mona Lisa, a half-length portrait of Lisa Gherardini by the Italian Renaissance artist Leonardo da Vinci. On the left of the reverse, the inscription: "MONA LISA" – the name of the coin. On the right, the inscriptions: "2017" – the year of issue and "1503 - 1506" - the years when it is believed that Leonardo painted the Mona Lisa. On the bottom, the signature of Leonardo da Vinci.
