Arthur Segal's "View From the Window" is on display as part of "The Aura of Neo-Impressionism" at the David and Alfred Smart Gallery through March 6. One of the most colorful outings you can have this weekend is at the David and Alfred Smart Gallery, 5550 S. Greenwood, which through March 6 will host "The Aura of Neo-Impressionism." This delicious exhibition features 52 paintings and watercolors by such Neo Impressionists as Paul Signac, Maximilien Luce, Theo van Rysselberghe and Henry van de Velde. Many Neo-Impressionists followed leader Georges Seurat's theory of Divisionism, which was based on the science of optics and color. Seurat painted with small adjacent dots of complementary colors to create an effect of distinct, luminous colors and vibrant, pulsing light. Photo measures 8 x 10 inches. Photo Is dated 1988.
