CONDITION

Good. The cloth along the joint is torn. The front cover is about 2/3 separation along the hinge, and the back cover the same but only a few inches at the top. The title page and a couple of pages after that has some light insect damage. Toned pages. I saw one map (map of Deer Park) with the red markings and pencil markings on it. Some pages with smudges.

SIZE and ATTRIBUTES

Large hardcover measuring 15-1/2" x 18".
Some of the pages have printing on one side only. The maps that have color on them appear to be hand colored.

COMMENTS

 

Some the maps in this rare antique county atlas are hand colored, a labor intensive endeavor to be sure.

Maps of La Salle county include Earlville, Tonica, LaSalle, Peru, Marseilles, Seneca, Mendota, Troy Grove, Utica, Oglesby, Ottawa, Streator, Harding, Leland, Lostant, Sheridan and more.
