- The casting is nicely textured like a set of cast hinges over 150 years should have
- I stripped all the paint, wire brushed them and washed with water to prepare for paint
- They are clean cast iron.
- The hinges were cleaned and oiled to prevent rust
- I added a few drops of oil to the pins so they will be ready to use.
- They are ready for paint. Just wash with soap and water to remove the oil.
- The hinges are marked “G MAYER PATENT 4”
- They are 3" long at the pin
