This is an item I was lucky enough to randomly find at a local thrift store. I am not an expert on Betel nut boxes so I am not positive who made it or when but it definitely appears to be quite old. Evidently this could have been made in Indonesia based on a few other examples that were similar that I found while doing some research.
This shows quite a bit of wear from many years of use. It has scratches, scuffs, a hole has been dug out between two of the compartments and the wood is split in one spot but still firmly attached. It definitely has plenty of character! Please review the pictures to best determine the condition further and feel free to ask any questions!
