For sale is a rare Antique 18TH Century American blacksmith Hand Wrought Iron fireplace meat skewer set. It contains 4 matching skewers and a hanger. The hanging end of each skewer features a beautifully hammered rattail hook (all tails are in comparable style). The other end tapers to a sharp point.

The hanger is in a RARE double HEART form and boldly curved hanging arms. Based on my years of experience with antique iron objects, this is a genuine 1700s piece, not a reproduction. It comes from a New England auction house with many other early Americana objects. 

This outstanding features of this set are the bold heart body and that all skewers are matching and in similar good condition. 

The skewers measures between 6 and 7" long. The hanger measures about 4” tall and 3.5” wide.  All skewers are straight when looked from the sideline. Beautiful blacksmith hand formed curves and beautiful folding and hammering signs show its authentic early origin. Great antique patina! Please check all close up photos for details.
