1978 Press Photo Entex workers dig in mud to find broken gas line, Humble, TX

This is an original press photo. A broken gas line about two miles east of Humble kept Entex Incorporated workers digging in mud most of the day Tuesday. The line was ruptured about 9 a.m. when an underground telephone cable was being laid in the 2000 block of Farm Road 1960. 2000 block of Farm Road 1960. east of Humble...about 2 miles by telephone underground cable being laid...gas line. Entex said they didn't have any gas lines in the area, but would dig it until they found out whose it was. Entex man said he thought the amount of gas...was 2 inch pipe but declined to say how much gas was leaking out. The pipe was broken about 9:00-they were still digging it out at 12:00 noon.
