The Kawaji family tradition of craftsmen from Nagato, Hagi signed their Tsuba made by Kawaji from Nagato / Choshu, Hagi. They were not in the habit of specifying the craftsman in question any closer than that. This is one of their splendid Tsuba with a Seaside Country Houses theme. The Iron details makes this Tsuba come alive with vitality and strength. It is well crafted and remarkably good shape.
