Kiyoshi Saito Haniwa 4 Japanese Art Woodblock Print Japan Vintage Modernist

Description and Item Information
Up for sale is this vintage, unframed Japanese woodblock print on paper by Kiyoshi Saito. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This modernist print depicts a haniwa figure; haniwa are terracotta clay burial figures which are funerary objects of the Kofun period in Japan. The paper has irregular edges at the top and bottom, but the maximum dimensions are approximately 17 1/8 inches by 11 1/4 inches. The image area measures about 14 1/4 inches by 8 3/8 inches. This piece would make a very nice addition to a collection of Asian art.

Identification
This vintage Kiyoshi Saito print is titled, "HANIWA (4)." There are some pencil notations verso, "1500" and, "SL-8." Affixed to the lower right corner on the back side is a partial "MADE IN JAPAN" label. Kiyoshi Saitō (1907-1997) is a well-known Japanese artist; he is considered one of the most important Japanese woodblock artists of the 20th century. The exact age of this print is not known.

Condition
This unframed print looks very good overall, as shown, with no rips or holes. The paper is very clean overall. There are a few minor creases in the paper. As made, the upper and lower edges of the paper are irregular. Please review the description and photos, and ask any necessary questions prior to bidding or buying.


Terms of Sale

1. Payments
Taxes may be applicable. The correct shipping address must be included with payment. Contact the seller before bidding or buying to find out about acceptable payment methods for local pickups or deliveries. Payments must be received within three days of the end of the listing, unless prior arrangements have been made.

2. Shipping
Good packaging is included; double-boxing is not necessarily included. Framed art will not be shipped unframed. The seller usually ships on Mondays and Thursdays. The merchandise will normally be shipped on the seller's next shipping day after payment clears. The seller is not responsible for the transit time once the merchandise has been accepted by the shipping carrier.

Shipping includes delivery to a physical address via a method of the seller's choice. If the buyer prefers a different shipping method other than that chosen by the seller, or if delivery is to a post office box, additional shipping costs may be required. At the seller's discretion, a signature may be required for delivery.

Shipping quotes must be requested prior to all international bidding or buying. For international shipping, there may be parcel size restrictions or prohibitions on certain classes of merchandise. Customs forms will not be falsified.
