Oud (also called agarwood) is the resin that frosts within Aquilaria trees as an immune reaction to the attack of a parasite. It is a woody, resinous, powerful, deep odor. Oud Patchouli by Alyssa Ashley is an olfactory reconstruction thanks to notes of saffron for the spicy facets, sandalwood for the woody aspects and patchouli that enhance the earthy facets. Fresh notes of rose and pink pepper create a sophisticated opening with geranium, saffron and labdanum to embellish the fragrance. A woody melange of oud, guaiac wood and sandalwood make up the base notes.
