John Betjeman was born in Highgate in 1906. A prolific poet, broadcaster and architectural campaigner, he was knighted in 1969 and made Poet Laureate in 1972. He died in May 1984 and is buried in St Endoc's Church near his beloved home in Trebetherick.

'Thank God It's Sunday' (1972) features two films made by Sir John Betjeman in the 1970s showing how Londoners spend their Sundays.
