V Long 9ct Gold Lariat/Rope Muff Guard Chain Necklace w Cable /Fancy Links 16.3g

This is a timelessly elegant necklace originally intended to be worn as a muff or guard chain. Today it would be worn as a long lariat or rope length that may be worn as double or triple strands to suit the outfit. It is a solid gold chain tab marked with a rubbed 9ct stamp for its 375 rose gold fineness. The fancy links are a mixture of uniform lengths of small round cable links connected by a double interlocking rectangular link. It was likely fitted with leash clasps; they have been replaced with a vintage round boult ring fitting. It is fitted with a replacement fitting.
