This listing is for a VINTAGE 1961 BATTERY OPERATED TOM TOM INDIAN w/box as shown. This toy is in good working order. When either button on the remote is pushed, his movement is either to the right or to the left. Condition of the toy is very good. Colors are clear & bright. Tin litho is nice & clean. Clothing and vinyl face are nice, except there is some staining on the back of his pants. This was the effect of factory production and motor lubrication from the toymaker in japan.  Plastic feathers, and fringe on clothing are intact and undamaged. No corrosion anywhere. When the buttons are pushed, the following 5 actions occur: (1) Magic face movement, (2) His feet move to the right, (3) He bangs on the drum making a drum sound, (4) His feet move to the left, (5) His body leans  from right to left when he walks. Process repeats. Remote battery compartment is perfect and the wiring is intact, undamaged and still flexible. Please note that there are some melt marks where at some point in its life, someone put a piece of tape on the side of the plastic battery case. The battery case opens and closes just fine and the latch works, so I'm not sure why that piece of tape would have been put there, the tape is long gone, but it still has left the melt Mark where the tape reacted with the plastic on the side, please see photos.  also please note that the Box bottom has some curious water stains, and the Staples reflect some surface rest, so it may have been stored in a basement, the toy itself and the Box lid are unaffected, but the Box bottom does reflect that stain, so be aware of that.  It has a very unique and comical sticker of fixed to the top of the box by the St Louis carnival supply company at 3928 South broadway, in St louis, which indicates that the toy should be opened and handled with care, that they have inspected it, so if you decide to bring it back they will know you are joking. Odd but very unusual and rather comical sticker put on by the St Louis carnival supply company from Broadway in St louis. This is a "MADE IN JAPAN" toy listed in Don Hultzman's book, COLLECTOR'S GUIDE TO BATTERY TOYS, copyright 2002, second edition. It is listed on page 191. It is a 1961 era toy made by the Y Co. (Yonezawa) and distributed by Frankonia Toy Co. It has a rarity of 4 on a scale to 10 being the rarest. The original box is included. It is in clean, used, but not abused condition. Great addition to your comical battery operated Japanese Golden era toy collection, unique theme caricature native American or Western theme cowboys and Indians battery operated remote control 1960s vintage toy collection, or classic yonazawa Golden age 1950s and 1960s era better operated boxed moving working toy or Japanese toy related memorabilia collection.
