Radio Times from the eighties, which
are printed offset (glossy paper rather than newsprint) are smaller in width
and length than copies from the 1920s through to the early 80s (although, with
a higher page count, heavier). As a result, they can be sent as Large
Letters, rather than Small Parcels. So, to try to avoid confusion, they are
listed differently to the others I'm selling, as having 'free postage'.
However, if you want to include any glossy paper editions alongside earlier
editions, I'll adjust the overall postage to offer the best deal
possible.
For overseas buyers, it may be worth
considering International Economy (surface mail) rather than International
Standard (Airmail). The package will take longer to arrive, but there's a big
saving in cost! Here is the Radio Times for 30 April - 6 May 1988. This is the Scotland
edition, sold originally for 37p. The cover features a marvellous illustration by Bush Hollyhead
ahead of an Omnibus documentary celebrating the work of Irving Berlin – there’s
a two-page preview inside. Features inside include: ·
to no great fanfare, the
Eurovision Song Contest is broadcast from Dublin. There’s a picture of the UK representative,
Scott Fitzgerald, with a panel showing all the songs alongside the programme
listing, plus a short interview with Scott in the Upfront section, but little
more! ·
a one-page interview with Rory
Bremner ·
half a page on Bamber
Gascoigne ·
Kaleidoscope celebrates Judi
Dench
·
