Antique Chinese Purple Silk Hand Embroidered Floral Butterfly Bird Slipper Shoes

This pair of antique Chinese purple silk hand embroidered floral butterfly bird slipper shoes date from 1900. They are made of a pinkish purple fuchsia color silk damask weave fabric, with multicolored silk raised padded satin stitch hand embroidery work of flowers, birds, butterflies and have a black silk trim edging. These pretty Chinese slipper slip-on shoes have a layered hard leather bottom sole with quilted hand stitched hemp rope, Chinese calligraphy characters written in black ink on the bottom, an attached pink ribbon ankle strap for a wrap around style and are fully lined in blue cotton fabric stamped inside Size 10. The shoes measure 9 1/2 inches long, 3 inches wide and have a 1/2 inch heel platform lift. They are in good condition, gently worn with a pink ankle strap loose on one side, slight fraying of the black silk trim edging on the back of one shoe and the bottom leather soles are a bit warped curved at the heel (see close-ups). These are truly a wonderful piece of antique Chinese wearable shoe art!
