Dubreq Stylophone 350S

1975 Early model

Good condition and fully working

Includes instruction manual

I know very little about these, but having looked online it seems they are rare (~3000 made) and there were a few versions. Based on this having a 6510 board and the date on 22/1/1975 being written on the instructions, it is an early model (possibly very early, as the production apparently didn't start until '77!). It also has the printed jack names, but unusually these have not worn away.

I have tested all the functions I can and they are working, the only issue I have found is that the waa-waa switch is a bit dodgy, it doesn't seem to work if fully pressed, it has to be about half way, although if fully pressed the photo sensor overide still works (meaning you control the volume by the knob). I suspect the contacts just need a clean.

I do not know what this is supposed to sound like, so it may need replacement components to make it sound as it originally did, for this reason I have made a video so you can hear what it sounds like and see that it is working. (in case its not showing on here its also on youtube as "Dubreq Stylophone 350S test" and the video ID (end of url) is YsiJINMaYZE)

The original PP9 battery connectors are still there, but PP3 (the small 9v rectangle battery used in smoke alarms) connectors have been added. I have tested it with li-ion PP3s off ebay (not included - if you are going to use it alot, these cost less than twice the cost of a decent alkaline PP3, but can be charged with a USB and put out a full 9v, so recommended). However, there are no battery holders, so you may want to fit these, or tape the batteries down to stop them moving about inside.

The overall body is in very good condition, there is a light scratch across the wood effect from just left of the logo to just above the on button. It is not visible at all angles.

The stylus wires look to be in very good condition.

The keyboard has minor pitting, I have cleaned it up with a fibregrlass brush, but did not want to use anything more abrasive in case I damaged it. Having cleaned the stylus tips in the same way I feel it works pretty well, but someone who knows what they are doing will likely be able to get it into a better state.

When watching the video - by default the volume is controlled by the photosensor, which I demonstrate at the beginning, when the waa-waa or vibrato is selected, the photo sensor controls those and the conventional knob controls the volume.

I have not tested the jack ports, I have no reason to believe they do not work, but that part is sold as untested (in the unlikely event they don't work, I suspect it would be a simple fix).

Item will be well packaged in lots of bubble wrap and a box, posted by Royal Mail Tracked 48, you can upgrade to Tracked 24 at checkout. I aim to dispatch the next working day, in some cases this is not possible and takes an extra day.

Any questions, please message me and I will do my best to answer
