Edwardian Sheer White Net Cotton Batiste Embroidered Tea Dress

This antique Edwardian era sheer white net cotton batiste embroidered tea dress dates from 1915. It is made of a white sheer net and fine cotton batiste fabric with a woven windowpane check pattern and raised padded satin stitch hand embroidered floral vine leaf designs. This wonderful white afternoon tea dress has a long tea length, with decorative scalloped sheer net inserts trimmed with embroidery work, a squared front neckline with scalloped ruffles trim edging, short sleeves, a fitted waistband with newer pink ribbon belted tie sash, snap closures down the front side (some loose/missing) and is sheer, unlined. The dress measures 52 inches long, with a 36 inch chest, 26 inch waist, 46 inch hips and a 15 inch back. It is in good condition, only a few frayed small holes on net (see close-ups). This is truly a beautiful piece of wearable art!
