Description

Here is a nice late 18th century circa 1790 in date naval officer's wooden cased pocket compass in good original working condition. The surface has a nice patina from age and the brass catch on the front opens and closes well. The original glass lens is in good condition and the moving needle marked for North and South has a beautiful blued surface. In total measuring 2.1 inches wide. Originally from Leith docks, Edinburgh, Scotland from a maritime collection.
