1957 Press Photo Bell & Howell pods with cameras fitted for target aircraft.

This is an original press photo. Target aircraft carry cameras to show which guided missile hit them, or missed. Four cameras are fitted in a pod, and the pods are mounted on the wing tips of target aircraft. Here is one of the pods, with cover removed to permit removal and loading of its high speed motion picture cameras. Things happen so fast that only a high speed camera can record the action. The pods are made by Bell & Howell Co., Chicago.Photo measures 8 x 10inches. Photo is dated 4-14-1957.
