About the item: 

From the December 1985 issue of Playboy, this sketch features the final pencil drawing created by acclaimed illustrator Doug Sneyd for that issues gag cartoon.  It is drawn on vellum and measures approximately 8 1/2 by 10 inches (and is taped, by the artist, to slightly larger piece of standard copy paper).   Also included is a 8 1/2 by 11 inch Xerox copy of the finished cartoon as it ultimately appeared in that issue.  Please note that the magazine itself is not included in with the listing.  The listing is for the original artwork and the Xerox copy of the finished gag only.   


About Doug Sneyd:


Doug Sneyd began his career in commercial illustration before going freelance to work for a variety of book and magazine publishers.  He also illustrated single-panel cartoons for the Toronto Star, Canada's largest circulation newspaper (cartoons that were eventually syndicated throughout North America).  In 1964, he began working for Playboy and his gag strips have appeared in the magazine ever since.  Throughout his career, he has contributed over 500 cartoons in all and became a favorite artist of Playboy readers.
