This lovely antique metal document strong box, or money safe, with lock and key, dates to the late 19th century.

The heavyweight iron box has the original swivel carrying handle on the top and a working lock.  The key is included and does open and lock the box.  The interior is painted red.

It is in very good, original vintage condition.  There are some minor scratches on the exterior and some paint loss on the interior.  The box has not been cleaned or treated so does have oxidation commensurate with age.   As can be seen from the photos, this does not detract from the beauty of this item and only adds to the character and charm.   

Approximate Dimensions: Height 4 1/2" with handles down, Height 5 1/2" with handle raised, Width 8", Depth  6 1/2".  Weighs over 5 1/2 lb.
