A classic and original 19th century patinated bronze (with traditional sectional construction) of Hermes/mercury.
He is well cast and on a fantastic original marble base.
A great country house item from the grand tour.
Approximately 17inches high and of good weight.
Condition is fair for his age with minor rubbing and a few small nicks to the marble base. He is missing a finger from his right hand. You can see this in the photos but is not generally noticeable when the sculpture is displayed.
