A 3 3/4" tall beautiful deep COBALT BLUE colored rare TRIANGULAR SHAPED Effervescent Salts bottle.  This is an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE hand Blown Into Mold bottle (BIM) with a ground top, dating back to the late 1800's era.

A rare and nicely COLORED bottle.  This BLUE color is what the majority of these medicinal salts bottles and jars came in.  The dark color prevented the light from fading or weakening the salts that the jar held.  These medicinal or bathe SALTS were a popular product 150 years ago, and the 'salts' were often medicinal 'salts' such as Vichy Salts, Effervescing Salts, Kissingen Salts, to name a few.  These curative salt crystals were imported from many exotic sounding places, the more exotic sounding, the stronger the 'cure' claims were that the specific salts claimed to cure.   A labeled example of this bottle states that this was a product put up by the AMERICAN LABORATORIES in PHILADEPHIA U.S.A. and the bottle literally contained salt granules from the ... "GREAT EUROPEAN BAD-EM SPRINGS".   The salt crystals were to be added by the teaspoon to a tumbler of water to "cleanse the LIVER, BLADDER, KIDNEY and INTESTINES of all disease ... and CURE other internal afflictions... "  This is a rare example in a super deep cobalt blue color and quite unusual in the TRIANGULAR 3 SIDED shape, check it out!
