This lovely Tray comes to us from Meito China.
Heavily encrusted gold on this hand painted piece.
It has a gold and green rim with sparingly used blue and red accents.
One of the handles has significant gold loss.
Is a great example of early Meito China.
Nagoya Seito Sho started to manufacture fine china in 1908. The founder Kotero Asukai had previously worked at Noritake. Many of the Noritake artists joined the firm.
Headquartered in Nagoya, Japan it derives it's name from the Atsuta shrine of the sacred sword, one of the crown jewels of Japan.
The tray measures approx. 10 inches wide at the handles
