This auction is for a lovely Japanese wood creative kokeshi doll from the 1970's, and measures 8.25" tall.  She was designed by highly respected kokeshi doll artist - Miyajima Muhitsu - who has won numerous top awards in Japan for his creations, including one for this doll.  Her name is "Hana Gokoro" which roughly translates to "Spring Flowers".

Her attractive and quite modern asymmetrical hair do is lovely as one side falls much lower than the other.  Her beautiful kimono is decorated with white spring-time flowers, and single petals that appear to be slowly falling in a gentle breeze.  Part of this dolls' charm is that she is made entirely from blonde/light colored wood.  The artist's fading red stamp/chop is on the bottom.  Please see below for flaws.

This kokeshi doll piece is in good vintage condition - hard to find many flaws other worn varnish, tiny age spots, and natural but uneven aging/shading/darkening of the wood - and she would make a great addition to your growing collection.  White areas are camera glare.   Please remember that this is a vintage kokeshi that may have minor imperfections, such as dust/dirt/dings/scratches/scuffs/age spots.  And please note the size of the piece as the pictures may make it look larger than it actually is.
