Amedée Baudit first studied under the painter François Diday in Geneva, then completed his training in Paris. From 1861, he took part in exhibitions in Geneva, Lyons, Bordeaux and at the Paris Salons. After many visits to France, he decided in 1867 to settle in Bordeaux.
Baudit's landscapes of the Berry, Provence, Pyrenées and Médoc regions were strongly crafted. He rendered masterfully the subject and the texture of the various elements of his still-lifes.
