This is a large antique sterling silver souvenir spoon commemorating the World's Fair held in Chicago, Illinois, in 1892-93.

It is about 5-1/2" long. The bowl is etched or hand-engraved with an image of a large building and "Woman's Bldg.  Chicago."

The spoon itself was made by the famous American company, Gorham, and is in the hand-engraved floral "Chrysanthemum" pattern, which was introduced in 1885.

Maker's marks:  "Sterling" on the back of the handle, with the old Gorham hallmark of a lion, anchor and G, and H and C5 or Cs, unsure.

Weight:  15.5 grams, a nice weight.

Engraving: As described above.

Condition: Very good.
