Victorian Black Silk Lace Green Velvet Gold Trim Leg of Mutton Sleeve Bodice Wool Skirt

This antique Victorian era black silk lace green velvet gold trim leg of mutton sleeve bodice and wool skirt dates from 1890. The bodice top is made of a black silk fabric with black and green velvet fabric, black lace trim accents, gold metallic thread woven braiding details and the the yoke, collar, cuffs are backed in a white silk fabric underneath. This beautiful bodice has layered embellishments, a high neck collar, leg of mutton style full sleeves with tapered fitted cuffs, hook closures down the back and is fully lined in a gray white striped ticking cotton fabric inside. The bodice measures 17 inches long, with a 36 inch chest, 28 inch waist, 22 inch long sleeves and 12 inch neck. There is a black wool fabric, long floor length full skirt with slight back train, pleated gathering on the back, hook closures and is fully lined in a black polished cotton fabric inside. The skirt measures 41 inches long in the front, 48 inches long in the back, with a 31 inch waist and 56 inch hips. The two piece outfit is in good as-is condition, with the white silk backing on the bodice shattering missing in areas on the yoke collar, cuffs and there are several small frayed holes on the wool skirt (see close-ups). Great for upcycling, restoration or display. This is truly a wonderful piece of antique Victoriana wearable art!
