AMIOT French Impressionist Etching "Une Allee dans un Bois" 1874 RARE

AMIOT French Impressionist Etching "Une Allee dans un Bois" 1874 RARE

This is an Authentic and Original antique etched print from 1874. Wonderful artistic detail.

The artist was part of the French Impressionist Movement during the 1870s. This etching is one of a limited number of copper engraved etchings executed for the short-lived art journal "Paris a L'eau-Forte" published and edited by Richard Lesclide between 1873 and 1876 in Paris, France. These publications featured a number Original copper plate etchings in each issue by both noted and "up-and-coming" Impressionist artists of the time. Published in very limited quantities in the Chine-colle method (likely less than 150) each of the prints were mounted on Hollande laid paper by Delatre, Paris (noted paper maker and supplier). This is one of those Original etchings. The journal was instrumental in exposing the public to this new form of art and gave many fledgling artists exposure they may never have had without it. The magazine itself is nearly impssible to find now and the Original etchings are much sought after but seldom found available especially here in the U.S. A wonderful opportunity to acquire a unique example of late 19th Century printed art.
