Vintage Terra Cotta plate of Men stomping Grapes by Matteo Capitini -

Dimensions are ; 6 1/2" in diameter X 1/2" . Material is Terra Cotta . This cool little plate by Italian ceramics artist Matteo Capitini ( b. 1938 ) depicts 2 bearded men , one naked , one in a loin cloth , stomping grapes as part of the ancient wine making process. The plate is well decorated with bunches of grapes and grape leaves all around the center circle imaging the men. The are no other markings on the plate and while the front is in pristine condition , there are two areas on the reverse on the plates 'rest' that are chipped , probably from the metal clip spring hangers used to mount plates to a wall. Cool little display piece for your wine rack or wine cellar.
