About the Book

John Julius Norwich's Christmas Crackers started life when he started collecting together the favourite things he’d come across during the last year into one short charming pamphlet. They included letters and diaries and gravestones and poems, boastful Who's Who entries, indexes from biographies, word games such as palindromes, holorhymes and mnemonics. They were initially meant as Christmas greetings for friends and a few were sold through bookshops. They soon became very popular items, leading to anthologies and collected editions.

This is an original copy from 1984 and contains pieces from Lytton Strachey, the Two Ronnies (FUNEX), J A Baker (from The Peregrine), and Pepys.

Condition

Very good condition, with some light fading to the spine and a little light wear to the covers.
