The Doug Sneyd Collection

Vault Collectibles, dba on eBay as empire.auctions, is pleased to offer to his many fans and admirers a rare opportunity to acquire books from the personal collection of Doug Sneyd.  Mr. Sneyd, the legendary Playboy cartoonist (see below for biography) is downsizing his collection and is offering a selection of books, sketch books, and miscellanea from his library.  The collection represents items Mr. Sneyd purchased himself as well as long-treasured gifts from fans and fellow artists. Due to health concerns, Mr. Sneyd decided that now is the time to let others enjoy these books.  Included in the collection are volumes from some of the industry's greatest talents.  Many are unsigned.  However, a select few are autographed and some are personalized by the artist to Mr. Sneyd.  Each volume includes a Vault Collectibles Certificate of Authenticity.

About Doug Sneyd:

Doug Sneyd began his career in commercial illustration before going freelance to work for a variety of book and magazine publishers.  He also illustrated single-panel cartoons for the Toronto Star, Canada's largest circulation newspaper (cartoons that were eventually syndicated throughout North America).  In 1964, he began working for Playboy and his gag strips have appeared in the magazine ever since.  Throughout his career, he has contributed over 500 cartoons in all and became a favorite artist of Playboy readers.

About Robert Bailey:

A licensed Star Wars artist, Bailey only sells original artwork.  He does not sell prints.  His work for Star Wars helped him become licensed by major movie studios like Disney, Pixar, and Marvel.  From his studio in Stoney Plain (west of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada), Bailey works mostly in graphite and he trained at the Longton College of Art in England during the 1960’s. He and Mr. Sneyd shared adjacent booths at several Vancouver, Toronto conventions and once in Calgary.
