Charming antique miniature bronze statue of a boy, 19th–early 20th century, the cast figure depicting a barefoot boy in knee breeches and open shirt, a worn straw hat in one hand, a bedroll or small pack with a strap slung over one shoulder, on a cylindrical base of red marble, 4-3/8" tall overall, unsigned. A few pinpoint rough spots to bottom edge of base (insignificant and noted only for strict accuracy), otherwise fine, attractive condition, with no breaks, bends, or losses, retaining a rich, pleasing, untouched original patina.

An appealing model in the "rustic ragamuffin" mode of 19th-century genre artists, possibly intended to depict either Tom Sawyer or Huckleberry Finn from the iconic novels by Mark Twain.
