This the PREMIERE LAUNCH issue of MOJO Magazine, published in November 1993 and featuring Bob Dylan and John Lennon on the front cover.

Launched on 15 October 1993, and following the huge success of their magazine Q, publishers EMAP were looking for a title that would cater for the burgeoning interest in classic rock music.

Editor Paul Du Noyer had this to say in his welcome to readers:

"It's a magazine for anyone who loves rock 'n' roll. Our aim is to cover the best music we know, in the best way we know how. We'll tell some untold stories and make some fresh connections. We will offer a home for honest outrage and crackpot opinions. We'll try to present it beautifully. We will insult nobody's intelligence. It is our confirmed intention to pitch a wang-dang-doodle - all night long, if necessary. That's our plan. So, wipe your feet and loosen your collar. You've found a new place to dwell."

What is now an iconic magazine, this launch issue of 130 pages is a slice of history for the rock music fan. For the MOJO connoisseur, this excellent example is a bragging rights issue to add to your collection.

This issue was purchased from W.H. Smith in Leicester, UK on 18 October 1993 and was put into storage immediately. It has never been opened until I took these photos. The original subscription card is attached and intact, and all pages are crisp and flawless.

For a bit of trivia, I've still got 2 of the CDs advertised in this issue - the 'Back to the 70's' and 'The Best of 2 Tone' - which are great CDs in my opinion.

INTERNATIONAL BUYERS PLEASE NOTE: I am selling this from Australia and am happy to post anywhere in the world.
