How our books are graded:

Fine to Very Fine: Brand new and never read.

Fine:  Almost new looking with no previous owner’s inscriptions, underline, highlighting or scribble marks, and with an equally nice bright looking dust jacket (if any) with no tears and not price clipped. It may or may not be signed by the author.

Very Good: Nice clean book which may possibly have a previous owner’s inscriptions and/or dedication and signature by the author but no underline, highlighting or scribble marks on the inner pages.

It may show some signs of light handling use including slight rubbing on top and bottom of the spines of the board covers, possible cello tape ghosting marks, very light foxing spots or age-browning marks but generally in nice all-round clean condition. Dust jacket may have some minor rubbing to the edges, possibly price-clipped, and possible sun-fading on spine but no paper loss. Could be and ex-library book.

Good: Nice clean book with possible previous owner’s and/or dedication and signature by the author. It will probably show signs of handling use including rubbing on top and bottom of the spines and along edges of the board covers, foxing spots and/or age-browning marks, highlighting and underline marks, and possible dog ears on pages but aside from that, generally in nice all-round clean condition. Could be and ex-library book.

The dust jacket (if any) may have rubbed edges, paper loss on corners, have splits and tears (possibly repaired from reverse with cello tape) and may be price-clipped but generally intact.

Fair: These books will only be listed if they are considered rare and collectable. The books may have grubby and rubbed board covers, previous owners’ inscriptions and/or dedication and signature by the author.

It will show signs of heavy handling use including; rubbing on top and bottom of the spines and along edges of the board covers, possible splits on spine fold seams, grubby marks, foxing spots and/or age-browning marks on inner pages but still legible, highlighting and underline marks, and dog ears on inner pages.

The dust jacket (if any) will generally be in tatty torn condition.
